FAQ

  • How much water do you use?

We understand water conservation is important. The amount of water we use depends on the size of the area being cleaned and the type of service. Depending on service, we use between 30 - 70 gallons to wash and rinse a roof. For a whole house we use 100 - 150 gallons to wash and rinse a house. Fun Fact: A typical 4-person BC household uses 200 - 300 gallons of water in a day.

  • When is the best time to wash my house?

Here in Vernon, BC, the best time is after 1 April when the City of Vernon has completed measuring household water usage. Also, take into account spring street-cleaning, it would be pretty frustrating to have your house washed and the next day have the street-cleaner kicking up dirt. We’ll leave the scheduling up to you.

  • Do I have to be home during the washing?

It’s up to you. We only need access to the exterior of your home unless you want your interior windows cleaned as well.

  • I have my own pressure washer, should I do it myself?

While having your own pressure washer is convenient, washing your house and roof yourself can be risky. High-pressure washing can damage your siding, shingles, and other surfaces, leading to costly repairs. Additionally, without proper techniques and solutions, you may not effectively remove mold, mildew, and other biological growths, which can cause further damage over time. Professional soft washing uses low-pressure solutions that clean thoroughly without causing harm, ensuring your home looks great and stays protected.

  • My house is not that dirty, I don't think a soft wash is that necessary.

Even if your house doesn't look very dirty, regular cleaning is essential for maintaining its appearance and structural integrity. Dirt, mold, algae, and other contaminants can build up over time, potentially causing damage and reducing your home's curb appeal. Routine cleaning prevents these issues, extends the lifespan of your exterior surfaces, and keeps your home looking its best. Size of Area: Larger areas will cost more due to the increased amount of cleaning solution and time required.

Surface Material: Different materials may require different cleaning methods, affecting the price.

  • Will you scrub my house (with a brush)?

Scrubbing a house with a brush can be effective for small areas, delicate surfaces, and detailed cleaning. However, it's time-consuming and impractical for large or high areas. Soft washing, using low-pressure water and cleaning solutions, is a more efficient and safer method for cleaning house exteriors. It covers large areas quickly, breaks down dirt effectively, and requires less physical effort. By using low-pressure water, it avoids surface damage and reduces the need for climbing, minimizing the risk of falls. The cleaning solutions are safe for the environment, pets, and plants, ensuring thorough and safe cleaning.

  • Will you scrub my roof (with a brush)?

Scrubbing a roof with a brush is generally not recommended as it can damage roofing materials, is labour-intensive, and potentially dangerous. Instead, soft washing is a better method. It uses low-pressure water and cleaning solutions to effectively clean roofs without causing damage. Soft washing covers large areas quickly, breaks down dirt and moss effectively, and requires less physical effort. It also minimizes the risk of falls by reducing the need for climbing. Additionally, the cleaning solutions are safe for the environment, pets, and plants.
